Interspecific variation of phosphoglycerate kinase in Drosophila.

چکیده
-1. The phosphoglycerate kinase electrophoretic banding patterns of several Drosophila species were studied. 2. Three banding types were noted: A type with a slowly migrating band of activity, a type with a faster migrating band of activity, and a type with an intermediate migrating band. 3. These banding types appeared to be species specific and may be useful in evolutionary or taxonomical studies.

Efficient chromosomal gene modification with CRISPR/cas9 and PCR-based homologous recombination donors in cultured Drosophila cells
The ability to edit the genome is essential for many state-of-the-art experimental paradigms. Since DNA breaks stimulate repair, they can be exploited to target site-specific integration. The clustered, regularly interspaced, short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/cas9 system from Streptococcus pyogenes has been harnessed into an efficient and programmable nuclease for eukaryotic cells. We thus com...
متن کاملIntegrin Linked Kinase (X-ILK) Function during Embryonic Development and within Adult Tissues of Xenopus laevis
Integrin linked kinase (ILK) is a serine/threonine protein kinase implicated in the phosphatidylinositol 3’kinase (PI3’K) pathway. Integrin linked kinase has been investigated in different organisms such as mammalian systems (human, mice, rat), insects (Drosophila) and nematodes (Cenorhabditis elegans), however to date little data regarding ILK research on amphibians has been reported. In...
متن کاملErythrocyte enzyme deficiencies assessed with a miniature centrifugal analyzer.
Methods for assaying 16 erythrocyte enzymes have been adapted to the miniature centrifugal analyzer. Less than 15 micro L of whole blood is required for all 16 assays. Variation attributable to temporal effects, rotor effects, and random residual error is minor. Initial population studies of blood from adults and cord-blood samples suggest a CV of less than 12% for 12 of the 16 enzymes; thus it...
متن کاملAnalysis of glycolytic enzyme co-localization in Drosophila flight muscle.
In Drosophila flight muscles, glycolytic enzymes are co-localized along sarcomeres at M-lines and Z-discs and co-localization is required for normal flight. We have extended our analysis of this phenomenon to include a set of six glycolytic enzymes that catalyze consecutive reactions along the glycolytic pathway: aldolase, glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH), glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate de...
متن کاملImmunological relatedness of two isozymes of 3-phosphoglycerate kinase from the mouse.
Two isozymes of 3-phosphoglycerate kinase (ATP:3-phospho-D-~ycerate 1 -phosphotransferase, EC 2.7.2.3, PGK) are known to be present in mammalian tissues. PGK-I ** is found in all somatic tissues, and its structural locus is X-linked in humans [l] , kangaroos [2] and mice [3] .PGK-2 has been detected only in the sperm and testis of a number of mammals; however, there are exceptions where it has ...
